Harpfestival: Anneleen Lenaerts, harp

Tijdens het harpfestival – vorige week in Utrecht – waren veel wereldberoemde, vaak nog jonge, harpisten te horen. Natuurlijk Nederlandse sterren op de harp zoals Lavinia Meijer en Godelieve Schrama, maar ook de Fransman Emmanuel Ceysson, winnaar van het belangrijke ARD concours, en Andrew Lawrence King, harpist en oude muziek specialist.

Ook de jonge Vlaamse harpiste Anneleen Lenaerts gaf een concert. Zij is pas 25 jaar, maar nu al de soloharpiste van de Wiener Philharmoniker. Ze won een indrukwekkend aantal hoofdprijzen bij belangrijke concoursen. Luister naar haar zondagochtendconcert (1 april, Vredenburg Leeuwenberg) tijdens het Harpfestival.

Luister terug: de finale van de Dutch Harp Competition

Amandine Carbuccia (FR) won zondag de Dutch Harp Competition 2012 in Utrecht. De 22 jarige Française won een geldbedrag van € 10.000 en een concerttournee in het seizoen 2012/2013. De publieksprijs van € 2.5oo ging ook naar Amandine. De tweede prijs ging naar Sarah Verrue (Be), terwijl Ruth Bennett (VS/GB) de derde prijs in ontvangst nam. Luister hier terug naar de uitzending. De drie finalisten speelden het beroemde Concierto de Aranjuez voor gitaar en orkest van Joaquín Rodrigo – Rodrigo maakte voor de Spaanse harpist Nicanor Zabaleta een versie voor harp en orkest.

Sarah Verrue (1988)

What is the one thong you cannot live without? A bed. Not my own one or a special kind of bed, just the idea of sleeping. I love being in a warm bed when it’s cold outside.

Who or what is your biggest inspiration? Light

Dead, alive, or imaginary, who is the person you’d most like to meet? Elizabeth Bennet, a character of jane Austin’s Pride and Prejudice that I read a lot.

‘If I wasn’t a harpist, I would be…’ …Be a translator French-Rusian. I don’t speak Russian but I love the Language.

What is the most important thing that ever happened to you? Moving to the US from Engeland when  I was 9. Otherwise, I’m not sure I would have had the opportunity to discover the harp….

‘If I wasn’t a harpist, I would be…’ Be a dancer

If you would be granted one wish, waht would it be? To be able to speak many languages fluently.

What is the one thing you cannot live without? Love (and chocolate)

What’s the most important thing that has ever happened to you? My travel through India, in the summer of 2010. One month in a dream.

What is something you’ve always wanted to do but never gotten around to? To reach a good level i figure-skating.

Dead, alive, or imaginary, who is the person you’d most like to meet? Coco Chanel.

”If I wasn’t a harpist, I would…” I would be a music therapist in order to make disabled people discover music and in that way help them to live better.

Nu: live webcast op radio4.nl van het harpfestival.

Het hart van het Dutch Harp Festival vormt het harpconcours. Afgelopen week streden 28 jonge topharpisten uit de hele wereld om een plek in de finale. De concoursjury heeft de volgende drie finalisten geselecteerd:

Amandine Carbuccia (Frankrijk),
Sarah Verrue (België)
en Ruth Bennett (GB/VS)

Deze finalisten zullen alle drie vandaag (1 april) in de finale het beroemde Concierto de Aranjuez van Joaquín Rodrigo spelen, in de versie voor harp en orkest. Deze finale is live te zien en te horen op www.radio4.nl, vanaf 19:30.

Opname Composition Contest, Harpfestival

Meer dan honderd composities waren ingezonden voor de Composition Contest van het Harpfestival. Drie composities werden geselecteerd voor de finale, ze werden afgelopen woensdagavond uitgevoerd door drie jonge harpisten: Gwyneth Wentink, Miriam Overlach en Sabien Canton. Nicoletta Andreucetti won met ‘Mouvements’ de eerste prijs: 2.000 Euro, uitvoering van haar werk op de International Gaudeamus Music Week 2012 en een officiele uitgave van ‘Mouvements’ door Ascolta Music Publishing.

Naast de competitiewerken werden er nog een paar opvallende hedendaagse composities voor harp gespeeld. Luister hier terug naar het concert!
